Hope Solar Farm Update: Permitting Stage

With recent temperatures here in the Capital District plunging into subzero territory, it can be difficult to picture Spring. However, if all goes according to plan, High Peaks Solar will begin construction on the Hope Solar Farm as early as this Spring!

Currently 72% of our available solar shares are spoken for; if you or anyone you know is thinking of joining our farm – now is the time to reserve a space!

We are currently engaged in the permitting phase of our project. Our site plan application has been presented to the Town of Brunswick Planning Board. Our first meeting was held on December 7th 2017. The Board gave us some important feedback, resulting in some minor changes to our site plan. For example, wires will now run underground, instead of aboveground, for much of the grid extension.

We are on the agenda for the January 4th 2018 Planning Board meeting. We will be presenting an updated version of our site plan, along with a Visual Environmental Assessment.

In addition, we will have to go through the Zoning Board to get approval for a couple of telephone poles to be installed near the field, as required by National Grid. We are on the January agenda for this as well.

We expect the permitting approval process to take up much of the winter. Permitting for solar projects can be a long process depending on the state, local government, and type of system.

We thank you for your continued support.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email us. We look forward to providing you with clean solar power for years to come.
